Description
(for best results, read the full description - usage guide below)
This is a merge of some random anime based and cartoon based models to achieve a somewhat cartoony anime style, more similar to what you would actually see in anime as opposed to the more common hyper-detailed anime models.
Versions 3, 4, and 4.5 include some custom training to further enhance the style. More details available in "About this Version" on the sidebar. Most positive prompts for the v3 sample images were randomly generated.
Usage Guide
(highly recommended) Use a negative embedding for best results
I use verybadimagenegative_v1.3 (all examples use this)
verybadimagenegative_v1.3
Place the downloaded file into the "embeddings" folder of the SD WebUI
In the negative prompt, paste "verybadimagenegative_v1.3"
(highly recommended) Upscaling at 2x (or more) is important to getting a good result. I would recommend the following settings:
Denoising strength of 0.45
Use the "R-ESRGAN 4x+ Anime6B" upscaler for a flatter look, or use "Latent" for a bit more detail
Leave hires steps at default of 0 (equal to your generation steps)
(highly recommended) Use DPM++2M Karas as the sampler. Other samplers can yield odd artifacts, though your mileage may vary depending on your specific setup.
(only for version 3 and below) Use the dynamic thresholding plugin (all example images do with cfg scale 10 mimic 7): https://github.com/mcmonkeyprojects/sd-dynamic-thresholding
Set the CFG scale to 10.0
Click the checkbox "Enable Dynamic Thresholding (CFG Scale Fix)"
Set the Mimic CFG Scale to 7
If you don't want to use this plugin, then set the config scale to 5 or 6
This model is very easy to prompt, and does not require a ton of prompt engineering to get good results. The following format will yield decent results:
Prompt:
(best-quality:0.8), perfect anime illustration, <normal description of the image, e.g. a woman running in tokyo at night, a flaming meteor, etc.>
Negative:
(worst quality:0.8), verybadimagenegative_v1.3, (surreal:0.8), (modernism:0.8), (art deco:0.8), (art nouveau:0.8)
The model is capable of NSFW
Description
Version 2 has been precision block-merged to weed-out some less desirable features of v1. Much effort has been put into making sure that the style remains similar to version 1 at its core, and this works well enough that existing seeds should work quite similarly in both versions, just with higher clarity in v2. Here's some of the details:
Improved line clarity - lines should be slightly less weighty which should allow for finer details (such as hands)
Improved general clarity - shading in v1.0 tended to look rather chaotic. This has been cleaned up in this version so that shading looks better, though emphasis was put on ensuring that style remains consistent
Improved resolution - perceived resolution is increased due to the before-mentioned clarity improvements.
Lower config scale requirements - this model will now work better with generating images that are not too peaky or corrupted without the dynamic thresholding plugin. Config scale of 5-6 will work without dynamic thresholding. Do note that this also means that when using dynamic thresholding the values will need to be tweaked lower than v1.0 to avoid a "washed out" look. Specifically, ~11 instead of 13.5 for config scale and ~7 instead of 4.5 for mimic scale.

i think the new one isnt better than v1
u should upload the v1 images but with v2, same seed and prompt to really make the differnec visisble to the epople
I couldn't do the original v1 images as I'm not currently using my simplex noise generator, but I posted a some comparison images that use the normal noise generator. The specifics about the differences are present in the changelog under the version description. If you prefer v1 over v2 it's understandable - v1 tends to be a bit "punchier", but this is at the expense of some strange bright spots and messiness in the shading. If you want v2 to act a bit more like v1, then you can try changing your config scale + mimic scale to taste. Higher mimic scale will give you stronger contrast
@bigbeanboiler thanks for the calrifications
What a difference between v1 and v2? Could you write the change log?
There is "About this version" on the right that tells this
@Potatovision Thank you a lot! First time see this block or just I was blind.
