v0.20fd and v0.20fd b: Which one is better?
Update, v0.20fd won. Thanks for the feedback.
I vote for it v0.20fd.
Version b's colors are indeed more vibrant, but it feels like it's missing something.
so far, although the colours are most definitely improved when using cfg on version b, I think it's making the styles more homogenized.
v0.20fd for me, personally. Similar reasoning to the other comments. I haven't tested thoroughly yet, but v0.12fd still feels the best at capturing different styles while v0.20fd has better fidelity and colors while making everything look "cleaner". v0.20fd b further strengthens this effect. This looks great for crisper, modern styles but I think softer/painterly styles suffer a bit too much in return.
I whipped up a few quick examples to showcase what I mean. The album seems to keep getting exploded so I have to post the pictures separately.
thin line chiaroscuro anime - v0.12fd, v0.20fd, v0.20fd b
artist style - preview1, v0.12fd, v0.20fd, v0.20fd b
2000s anime - preview1, v0.12fd, v0.20fd, v0.20fd b
semi-realistic anime-style digital illustration - preview1, v0.12fd, v0.20fd, v0.20fd b, v0.20fd b (cfg 3)
v0.20fd +1
Although the colors are muted, they can be processed in post-processing.
v0.20fd b looks "clean". "feels like it's missing something" +1. I know that's what anime images should be, but I still vote for v0.20fd.
