She was previously a part of the Fraules twerk team, a group of Russian girls who would compete in twerking contests.  She also competed on the Russian version of a dance contest show similar to the American version of 'So You Think You Can Dance.'  You can find some of the twerk contests on Youtube where she was easily the standout performer.  Before she got married her name was Sofa Kolbedyuk, but changed to Sofia Persianinova.  Maybe it's her new married name or perhaps just an issue from the translation from Russian to English... but does it really matter?
