The Hanbok is the national costume of Korea, and dates back to the original settlers of the peninsula. It is a 2 piece outfit consisting of the jeogori top, and chima skirt for women. Historically, most hanboks were plain white, but colors became more common in modern times, but the style and ornamentation is still modeled after the type that royalty wore in the Joseon dynasty. Today they are worn mostly as formal clothes for weddings and festivals
