Alright, its my 50th lora actually! I never expected to break 10 back in the day! And its janky!
Hey, call her a treasure hunter or she'll rip your lungs out!
Lana the Looter, my first RDO character. 61 samples, 36 RDO Screens, 25 AIs, in theory we should have alot of flexibility for poses and expressions and situations etc, but this one is taking me a bit of learning. Mad as it made me for awhile with site issues, it appears to work it works *MOST* of the time and was real good for learning about lora limits and prompts and some basic site functionality I've never used.
So's, I'll keep saying this, its flawed but usable, reminds me of my early loras that way. You CANNOT use "3d" as a prompt. "3D" in there completely breaks it, if you want something like that use a model like Nova3D or a 3D style lora and adjacent prompts (actually now that I think of it, it may work with Pony even if you got advanced mixing on), game style, sfm, render, etc. Its totally possible to do quasi-3d stuff, but it takes some fanangling, I'll give all kinds of tips/observations below. Oh, and I've seen people do beautiful 3d stuff with it in comfyui, so I know its possible.
BUT, here's the thing, putting 3d in negs sometimes gives you lots of noise and flare! It's a condundrum!
Lowering lora strength and config can help stylistically. Now I'm gonna say something contradictory. This is not one of those let the lora do the heavy lifting loras unfortunately, it really helps if you specify the things you want, lean into styles, and neg out the stuff you don't. BUT, if you're getting like alot of flare, noise, taking all the quality and lighting and clothing negatives out can help. I don't think it likes high-contrast rim lighting or glowing backlights.
Ok, I'll get my rant/excuses out early (and don't let that stop you from using it, but set your expectations accordingly), it does work (mostly), with quirks, which I'll get to. If you're not a prompting whiz, I'd use my sample gallery.
They fixed the prompts (though I have notes on those further below). I'm totally willing to accept responsibility in being too ambitious, being dazzled by lora creators who are much better at this than me, still being a noob in alot of ways (I only now figured out you can fix keywords after the fact, I got so many loras to update!), and listening to Gemini without specifying I was doing an IL lora. If I want true 3D, I'll do a Pony lora or something else, its the architecture, I accept it, you can't plant a potato and expect a watermelon. All that said, Civitai DID break everything you could break yesterday, including lora loading.
Up front, there's really no grand fic or backstory with her, I just love her look, every time I'm in a lobby or a cutscene all the other players look like her minions because she's always so well dressed. Feel free to download the dataset for ideas.
A few interesting stories about her and prompts, but first, the purpose of the lora. I had plenty of samples of her, both screenshot and AI, I put work into this one for sure but she's still lower stakes than alot of the other loras on my plate. This is also an opportunity for me to see if throwing 3D in there is likely to help or hurt the other Red Dead loras. Considering the initial gens, I'd rather bomb out on something people aren't likely to use anyway.
I almost never mix media, I mean everything is screenshot or everything is AI traditional media or 3D or etc. Supposedly, having all of it can help give a lora flexibility. I expect this lora (if civitai didn't bust it), to handle both 3D and traditional media, mostly in a western illustration, oil painting or heavy ink style, and with multiple outfits.
Ok, so's, story time. This was about Nov of 2021, and RDO 2 was on sale for $10. Her name came from a very old Simpsons gag, Larry the Looter, and that kind of goofy alliteration just lends itself well to cowboy nicknames. One thing I am addicted to in game is looting everything and everyone, so the name came easy.
Lana had a red and black motif that eventually became the prototype for Hungary Hanna. Besides there not being many asian characters in RDO, I eventually noticed the majority of other players really had a lack of fashion pizazz, and course, I had all this game money, so she evolved into a super well dressed debutante type. Also trust me, there is nothing funnier than a giant mountain man being choked out by a short woman decked out in Rich-girl chic. I really loved RDO 2, it inspired one of my more ambitious fics, and it has so much atmosphere, just Rockstar refuses to put any work or expansion into it, so you run out of things to do. It comes on sale by itself every fall, I still recommend it just as something you can pick up for multiplayer without foul mouthed kids on rocket bikes on their microphones every 2 seconds bombing you when you're just trying to sell some coke.
So, it may not be necessary to get super detailed on prompts, but:
Lana is a 25-30 year old Chinese woman who typically wears her black hair in coifed wavy drop curls. She has an oval face, naturally rosy cheeks, brown eyes, lush lips, dark eyelashes. May want to add or neg makeup or lipstick. You MIGHT be able to try something like hair bun or half bun if you want something different hair wise, as always, lowering the lora strength or throwing in a style or hair lora would help.
I forget this but see below, gun belt and guns are something you should decide on, as well as makeup and bling like jewelry and lace. Usually not getting detailed on the hair will get you something acceptable (and it handles updos and hairbuns and ponytails and twin tails, yay) but if you want to guarantee you get the drop curls hairdo use something like "wavy drop curls). Usually AI is good about her face but depending on the model/prompts, you might get cheekbones or hollow cheeks, "rosy cheeks" can counteract that but tends to go too far in the chubby cheeks direction. She IS Chinese, but throwing that in there tends to get you the paper lanterns and dragon lady stuff and really lay it on thick, makeup or lipstick is more than sufficient if you want it.
Lana SHOULD have alot of clothing flexibility, you should be able to do alot of mixing and matching. Her defaults mostly with an eye towards ritzy lady victorian-adjacent clothes, dresses, button up shirts, cowboy and flowery hats, jackets, coats, chemises, dress shirts and blouses a tang-style jacket with wide sleeves and a high mandarin colar. Her color motif is red, white, and black, but there's some blue, pink, green and purple trained in there, I've even got her in an old-timey onepiece swimsuit (though careful you don't get Monkey D Luffy or such). You may get some interesting things with "flower or brocade pattern" or hair ornament. For guns and weapons and her belt you can add rifle, gun, handgun, holster, rifle sling, belt buckle (usually a skull with a snake inside it), bandolier, pocketwatch, axe or hatchet. You can also mix and match alot of these most likely.
Keyword is L@n@L00t3r, but civitai is getting stupid about that, so unless they sober up and grow about 40 IQ points, I just wouldn't bother
Keyword is still L@n@L00t3r but I'm not sure how helpful this actually is.
On styles you can try:
rdr-style, render. vintage oil painting, traditional media, ink drawing, vintage western
Keywords help but you really gotta specify the clothing I find. I find short sleeves on the right outfit really help keep the defaults from overpowering.
Ensembles:
Her default debutante look:
L00t3rL@dy, red velvet long sleeved jacket with embroidery, white blouse, black ribbon or black bow, red vest and skirt
This look is really overpowering, if you're finding you're getting it too much, you can neg bunched shoulders or ruffled shoulders or vest, coat, etc. Oh, and she has lace ruffled sleeves, rings and a pocketwatch if you want to bling her out.
More of a traditional look:
L00t3rCh1n@, short red changshan jacket with cuffed wide sleeves and mandarin collar, side-fastening buttons, skirt
This ones a struggle. Again, having Chinese in there (or even cheongsam) really lays it on thick, her actual outfit is alot more realistic (AI also loves to throw a boob window or a belly button in there). Tang suit jacket or short qupao top may work too
Saloon girl look:
L00t3rD3s3rt, red ribbon, hair ornament, red and black chemise, bare shoulders, skirt, red ribbon, hair ornament, red and black chemise, short sleeve, ruffled bodice, black skirt,
Works for sure, although more detailing on the clothes helps, its also a short skip on these prompts if you want to see less, know what I mean
Kind of a competent gunfighter look:
L00t3rR1d1ng, white dress shirt, red vest, black pants, black boots
Works but really likes to try to throw in white pants or a white skirt.
Description
61 samples, Epoch 8, model training defaults. It DOES sort of handle 3D but don't use that as a prompt or you'll break it. Keywords galore!
