Sticker Placement Preview

Sticker Placement Preview is a small Windows desktop tool that shows you how a sticker will look on top of an image or video before you publish it on CivitAI, and save yourself 5k⚡from submitting a sticker that needs more work.

Load the image or video you want to put the sticker on, load your sticker, then move, resize, rotate, mirror and fade it until the placement and size look right.

It is preview only: nothing is edited, saved, exported or uploaded. There is no login, no telemetry, and the app never connects to the internet.

What the app does

Background media

- Supports JPG, PNG, WebP and WebM video. Videos play muted and on a loop.

- Load it with Open Media, or paste a screenshot with Ctrl+V (for example after Win+Shift+S).

- Large media is scaled down to fit the window. Small media is never scaled up.

- Loading a new background removes all stickers.

Stickers

- Supports WebP (static or animated) and PNG, both with transparency.

- Load them with Load Sticker. You can add several stickers.

- Animated stickers keep playing while you move, resize, rotate, mirror or fade them.

Editing tools

- Move: drag the sticker.

- Resize: drag one of the 4 side handles. The sticker always keeps its proportions and is never stretched.

- Rotate: drag the round handle above the sticker. Hold Shift to snap to 15° steps.

- Mirror: flip the sticker horizontally.

- Opacity: fade the sticker from 0 to 100%.

- Duplicate: create a copy you can edit separately.

- Reset: clear rotation, mirror and opacity, and set the width back to 25%. The sticker stays where it is.

- Delete: remove the selected sticker.

- Clear Canvas: remove everything and start from scratch.

Other details

- Any part of a sticker that goes past the edge of the image is hidden, so you only see what actually falls on the image.

- Sticker width: XX.X% shows the sticker width as a percentage of the image width. It turns orange above 25% as a visual reference.

- Resizing the window never changes the placement or the size of the stickers.

- Files are opened only through the buttons (drag & drop is disabled).

Keyboard shortcuts

- Ctrl+O: open media

- Ctrl+V: paste an image as the background

- Ctrl+D: duplicate the sticker

- M: mirror

- R: reset

- Delete: delete the sticker

- Esc: deselect

- Arrow keys: nudge the sticker (hold Shift for bigger steps)

What "Start Sticker Preview.bat" does

The .bat file sets everything up and starts the app. You can open it with Notepad to read it before running it. It does the following:

1. Checks Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime, which draws the app window, by reading the Windows registry.

2. Checks .NET Framework 4.7.2 or newer by reading the Windows registry.

3. Looks for Python 3.10 to 3.14 installed on your PC.

4. On the first launch only, it creates a private Python environment in a .venv folder inside the app folder. It then downloads the required libraries (pywebview and pythonnet) from PyPI, the official Python package index. Nothing is installed system-wide, and your other Python installations are not touched.

5. Starts the app without leaving a console window open.

If something is missing, the .bat stops, tells you what is missing and shows the download link. If the .venv folder stops working (for example after you reinstall Python), the .bat recreates it automatically.

What you need on your PC

- Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit. Windows on ARM is not supported.

- Python 3.10 to 3.14 from python.org. During setup, tick "Add python.exe to PATH".

- Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime. It is already included in Windows 11 and in up-to-date Windows 10. If it is missing: download WebView2.

- .NET Framework 4.7.2 or newer. It is already included in up-to-date Windows 10 and 11.

- An internet connection for the first launch only. It is used to download the libraries, which take about 20 MB of disk space.

How to start it

1. Download the zip and extract it to a normal folder, such as Desktop or Documents. Do not use Program Files, because it is read-only.

2. Double-click Start Sticker Preview.bat.

3. The first launch takes about a minute to set things up, then the app opens. After that, it opens in a few seconds.

Because the file comes from the internet, Windows may show a security warning the first time. Choose to run it anyway.

Folder contents

- Start Sticker Preview.bat: checks the requirements and starts the app

- app.py: opens the app window

- web/: the app interface index.html, style.css, app.js)

- requirements.txt: list of the required Python libraries

Troubleshooting

- "Python 3.10 - 3.14 was not found": install Python from python.org, then run the .bat again.

- "Could not install the dependencies": check your internet connection and your Python version (3.10 to 3.14).

- The app shows an error window or stays blank: install or update WebView2 Runtime.

- To force a clean reinstall: delete the .venv folder and run the .bat again.

Uninstall

Close the app and delete the folder. Python may also keep a small download cache in %LOCALAPPDATA%\pip\Cache, which you can safely delete.
