と回想されています。
押しかけた人々が固唾をのんで見守る中、幕がスッとあいて数十秒。
そしてスッと幕が閉じられる。

私も不思議だったんですよ。

という問題だったわけです。
（裸の女性が舞台で踊る）→（わいせつな見世物）となりやすい。
ところが、名画を再現した裸体の女性が、額縁の中で静止しているとなると、
『これは性的な演技ではありません。芸術作品の再現です』
という理屈を作れる。

実際、後世の資料にも「当時は、動くとわいせつとされた」という説明が残っています。
だから額縁ショーの本質は、
「裸を合法化する魔法の抜け穴」
というより、
「公然わいせつと芸術表現の境界線を、極端に静止画側へ寄せた」
とも言るでしょう。

これが直接的に現代に影響を与えているとは決して言いません。
事実、その後にストリップ業界はエスカレートの一途をたどり、（タッチショー）（指ポンショー）（まな板ショー）と摘発を免れないところまで行きます。
一方で鑑賞が主体のストリップは幕間に漫才やコントを挟み、演者とのコミュニケーションよりは観劇の色を強くしていきます。
