A week ago, I didn't even know about this rare version of the Opel Record for the South African market. Well, it's never too late to learn something new about classic European cars. And it certainly deserves its place in history.

P.S. I am going to updated this lora model a little bit later, because quality and amount of photos which were used in data set are not enough.

The 1992 Opel Rekord 380i GSi V6 is a high-performance sports sedan built exclusively in South Africa by Delta Motor Corporation. Although the Opel Rekord had already been discontinued in Europe, the South African model continued in production and was fitted with a 3.8-liter Holden V6, creating one of the most unique and powerful Opel sedans of the early 1990s.

    Key specifications:

    • Production: 1991–1993

    • Engine: 3.8-liter (3,791 cc) Holden/GM 3800 V6

    • Power: 177 hp (130 kW)

    • Torque: 305 Nm (225 lb-ft)

    • Drivetrain: Rear-wheel drive (RWD)

    • Transmission: 5-speed manual

    • 0–100 km/h (0–62 mph): approximately 8.0 seconds

    • Top speed: around 225 km/h (140 mph)

    • Weight: approximately 1,450 kg (3,200 lb)

Interesting fact: To cope with the larger V6 engine, the Rekord 380i GSi was upgraded with the Opel Omega's independent rear suspension and rack-and-pinion steering, along with sport seats, a rear spoiler, and distinctive 10-spoke alloy wheels. Built only for the South African market, it remains one of the rarest and least-known performance Opels ever produced.
