Bernadette From Sonic

Bernadette Hedgehog from the comic book series Sonic the Hedgehog by Archie Comics (1993), a long-running American comic adaptation of Sega’s Sonic franchise set in a separate continuity from the main games, she is Sonic’s mother and the wife of Jules Hedgehog. Usually called “Bernie,” she appears in the Archie continuity as part of Sonic’s family history and Mobian society, with her backstory tied to the Great War and Dr. Robotnik’s takeover. She and Jules were separated from Sonic for much of his life after being roboticized, and their later reunion gives Sonic a rare direct family connection not usually present in other Sonic continuities. In the comics she is portrayed more as a family and emotional anchor for Sonic than as a fighter, helping expand the Archie version of his personal background.
