Single file pure HTML tool for viewing LoRA metadata that can be run locally on your web browser without the need of installation or internet connectivity.
To use, just extract the attached Zip and open the extracted HTML file with the web browser of your choice. Alternatively, you can use the version hosted on Github: https://xypher7.github.io/lora-metadata-viewer
Not thoroughly tested, but should work with most modern web browsers. To be honest I didn't really intend to share this so its kind of low effort and pretty basic. However, I decided to post it since others might find it useful too. I don't really plan to update this as it already does what I need, plus I want to keep it as simple and lightweight as possible. Though suggestions are always welcome.

is it a full dream to imagine this tool integrated in an A1111 extension or do you have it in mind ?

Didn't really consider this as one of the main reasons I made the tool was to avoid having to load the entire A1111/Forge UI just to view the metadata. That being said, I do see the convenience of having it integrated as well. I'm not really sure about the complexity as I haven't created A1111 extensions yet, but I am curious. Ill look into it and update if it is straightforward enough.

how do i set/change the embedded preview image of a lora? i have several loras that have preview images despite having no accompanying files
The image you see in the tool is not embedded in the lora and cant be changed. The tool looks for the preview image in CivitAI if the lora is available there.
not working with flux lora's generated with ostris tool kit ( show no data )
It should work the same as any other safetensors file, so it sounds like those just don't have metadata. Can you share a link to one to take a look?

Absolute godsend. This thing saved a LoRA where the creator mistakenly tagged the model name with double underscores, which tripped up Dynamic Prompts.
Without it, I'd not be able to make images of a character I quite like.

I have 1000s of loras and I want to be able to quickly see what base model they were trained on, I'm guessing I can't do that in batch using this program?
No, this tool is designed to view the metadata of a single lora at a time. You will likely need to create a custom script for that.
This is the most valuable tool I have come across this year! Thank you for bringing this to the community, do you think its possible one could be created for checkpoints? Being able to see all the tags used in a checkpoint would blow my tiny mind!
Thanks! The tool should already support checkpoints or any other file in .safetensors format. But from what I i have seen so far it seems checkpoints generally include very limited metadata, if any at all.

I assume you are referring about the Image Metadata Editor? Im not aware of an issue like that with this tool, but the Image Metadata Editor is outdated here in CivitAI and can result in issues like what you just mentioned. If that is what you are referring to, try using the updated version hosted on Github, which will always be up to date.
