Lustrous Skin Mix XL

A merged checkpoint based on Illustrious XL, tuned for high-quality anime illustrations with lustrous skin, vivid lighting, and semi-realistic texture.

Lustrous Skin Mix XL was originally developed with Uma Musume fan art in mind, aiming for a refined balance between anime-style character appeal and rich, glossy surface rendering.
It performs especially well with sweat, rim lighting, expressive faces, and warm, polished visuals.

🧪 Versions

LSMX v2.1

[English] Compared to version 1.1, hand anatomy has been improved.
In addition, extra learning focused on “anime in real” was introduced, which shifted the overall image slightly closer to semi-realism with warmer tones and more advanced lighting/effect rendering.

As a tradeoff, the original goal of glossy semi-realistic skin texture became slightly less pronounced than in the earlier version.
I may revisit and restore that original direction more strongly in a future update.

From recent testing, beta57 currently seems to produce more preferable results overall than Karras for this model.

Lower CFG values tend to preserve the intended 2.5D / semi-realistic balance more naturally:

• v1.1 tends to work well around CFG 4

• v2.1 tends to work well around CFG 3

• Euler a cfg pp works best around CFG 1

Using cfg pp tends to push the output further toward an “anime in real” / slightly more 3D-like look, which can also produce very appealing results depending on the image.

Embedding use is generally not recommended with this model, as it may interfere with the intended style balance and overall output quality.

最近あらためて試した感じでは、このモデルは Karras より beta57 の方が全体的に好ましい結果になりやすい印象です。

また、CFGをやや低めにした方が、このモデル本来の 2.5D / 半写実バランスが出やすいです。

あたりが使いやすいです。

特に cfg pp では、より “anime in real” 寄り / 少し3D感のある見え方 になりやすく、これはこれでかなり良い結果になることがあります。

このモデル本来のスタイルバランスを崩しやすく、出力の安定感や意図した質感に影響する可能性があります。
