Giorgio de Chirico (1888–1978) was an Italian artist best known for his metaphysical painting style. He is credited with founding the Scuola Metafisica art movement and had a profound influence on Surrealists. His signature works frequently showcase Roman arcades, elongated shadows, mannequins, trains, and distorted perspectives.
