The focus of Hyphoria Real was first and foremost prompt adherence, just like Hyphoria. That is, what you put in the prompt box, the model will do its damndest to make it happen. I built this on top of Hyphoria, merging in various Illustrious based realistic models.
v0.9
I'm excited to share the accomplishments of the new Hyphoria Real model, which achieves an exceptional balance of prompt adherence and flexibility while enhancing realism.
The default output delivers impressive image quality - detailed and realistic visuals that seamlessly integrate with the Hyphoria family aesthetic. The model maintains high flexibility while producing remarkably lifelike results.
One of the most significant achievements is reducing the number of attempts needed to get your desired image. Hyphoria Real demonstrates excellent prompt adherence and handles traditionally challenging areas like fingers and faces with remarkable competence. When these elements are prominently featured, the model performs exceptionally well. Many base renders are ready to use without modifications, though upscaling and detailers can further enhance the final images.
While I continue to refine lighting and camera effects flexibility (with specific training data being collected to address this), the current version represents a sweet spot of quality, realism, and creative control.
If you discover scenarios where Hyphoria Real could be improved - especially areas where your favorite realistic models excel - please let me know so I can incorporate specific training data to enhance those capabilities.
There are three weaknesses with this version, which I will be addressing in v1.0, first is sampler performance, some samplers can cause unwanted noise like DPM++ 2M non-SDE (as on civit) in some cases, secondly is the teeth leave a lot to be desired and detailing or hiresfix is a must when they are not prominently displayed. The other is the somewhat analogue natural blurry look, even when you hires with it. It enhances the realism but at the same time can feel weird when you expect it to not be blurry after hires.
v0.5
This was my first forray into realistic models. I learned a ton making it. I learned even more seeing all the interesting things people make with it. It was always a stepping stone towards better versions but it was a great step towards my ultimate vision.
Recommended Settings
Steps: 20-35 (I have always liked 35, but lower is just as good)
CFG: 2.5-6
I use 3, it is my sweet spot, but CFG can be used to affect the look more so than prompt adherence.
Sampler: DPM++ 2M SDE (or Euler A base with potentially DPM++ 2M for hiresfix on Civit)
If you want a more realistic image, please use DPM++ 2M SDE and not just Euler A
Scheduler: Karras
Resolution: I recommend 1024x1024 - 1280x1280 for normal generation. Supports up to 1536x1536 without breaking, but can suffer some body extension. Any aspect ratio that equals the same number of pixels should work.
Prompting: This model listens to your prompts, so avoid the fluff and keep your prompts focused.
Recommended Positives:
photorealistic, realistic- For a more realistic photo look and proportions (especially with anime sourced characters)best quality- Less is more, this model was tuned to not need as many quality tags.
Recommended Negative:
I typically don't use negatives with this model outside of
shota, loliso keep it minimal or focused on the image you're trying to make, otherwise:worst quality
You can often omit pos or neg quality tags depending on what you're trying to make. Some of the other quality tags do work if you want those types of images.
Next Version & Future Plans
I am still collecting and setting up a dataset for training more expressive lighting, camera controls, and various realism focused features. I would like for anyone using Hyphoria Real to not need commonly used loras to get the most realistic and good looking images. Until then, most loras should work, if you do find any that don't please let me know.
As a long term goal I want to do a more comprehensive fine tune to cover the gaps that almost all realistic models have with prompt understanding, but beyond that I want my models to keep up with complex prompts but stay easy to use and fill in the gaps when you don't want to prompt for things specifically.

Description
Warning: DPM++ 2M (non-SDE as on civit gen) can cause unwanted noise and image issues when base generating, see description for more details on best settings and methods for on site generation.
New merge focused on much greater prompt adherence and flexibility while enhancing realism as much as possible.

I'm proud to get v0.9 out to everyone, it has great prompt adherence and flexibility while balancing realism, going beyond what was possible in v0.5 before.
One warning, DPM++ 2M non-SDE (as on Civit) can cause excessive noise in some cases. To avoid wasting buzz on bad generations, start with Euler A and do a lower denoise hiresfix with DPM++ 2M non-SDE for extra detail and texture. If you gen locally and can use SDE then you're good.
Please let me know if you have any issues as I'm working on v1.0 that will not have this issue among others I've mentioned in the description.
very nice IL realistic model, it looks I can finally switch from Cyber Pony to IL.
Glad to have you! Some great stuff you've made so far.
Very solid, the best realistic-style model I've tried so far!
Thanks, it has lots of room for improvement, both in realism but also creativity. I am working on both for v1. Pretty excited to finish it and share with everyone.
Really good model for generating realistic pictures, and it listens to prompts very good. Impressive! I recommend it! Keep it up <3
Thanks for the kind words and checking it out!
Only in 0.9 and can generate anything from world class beauties to whatever obscure creature you can piece together in your mind.
I dig it. Works great in JuggernautXL, Pony, DreamisoaRemix and albedoBaseXL (im on Mac M1 DT)
Good one, looks realistic enough and danbooru tags works.
Euler A for anime 3d and DPM++ 2M/3M/4M SDE for realism. Euler non ancestral is good too and more realistic than Euler A but not at the level of DPM++
They make a 4M???
DPM2 A is a good middle ground as well and has better fine detail stability, but the SDE DPM++ variations do add more noise which can give more details if over noisy in some cases.
Kaligo731 Yes, i use it on most images, is the most realistic one of DPM++ SDE variations but is noisier on realistic models, sometimes looks good, sometimes don't, if you like images with "film grain" is the best for that. I got it from this: GitHub - DenOfEquity/webUI_ExtraSchedulers: adds a few extra samplers and schedulers to the dropdowns in recent A1111-derived webUIs for Stable Diffusion
(on v0.9)
The muted colors create a unique sense of realism. It's realistic, but somehow unrealistic taste to it. I thought it had a very interesting personality.
The basic performance is also high, and although it's quite realistic, it doesn't break down easily and follows the prompts well.
I was also very impressed with accuracy of japanese-style objects without being too flashy. wabi-sabi feeling to it.
Thank you for great work!
This is currently the best model to generate realistic humans that still has a similar realistic style of pony I've used, the benefits due to illustrious:
Better prompt adherence
Anatomy
and without needing score tags makes it better.
Looking forward for the next release
Yeah but 90% of the time the face sucks. either the eyes are weird or the whole face is fucked up.
diego892009410 What sampler are you using? If not Euler a or dpm2 a, you should give them a try. Sadly the DPM++ 2m on site leads to bad noise and issues like you mention. The other two are solid on coherent details.
ecaj I'm using DPM++ 2M SDE with Karras Scheduler. not getting great results, I mostly use Loras too.
diego892009410 I use DPM++ 3M SDE Exponential, 1280x1280, For waist up images the face isn't that good compared to other models, even some ponyxl checkpoints (https://civitai.com/models/859275/quintessence-magnum-opus-realism-or-the-delicate-balance-or-pdxl) beating it in details and realness.
The major problem with this model is the texture and color of the face still looks kind of illustrous looking (anime skin tone)
diego892009410 Yeah, even SDE is somewhat noisy, I haven't updated the recommendations but I need to. Try DPM2 a, it is very clean all around. I gen local and on site and they look great, some people still use DPM++ 2M SDE and prefer it because of the extra noise. I also use dmd2 for additional realism when I want it, but only on hires as it affects model creativity IMO.
As far as loras, what loras do you use? I don't use many, but I haven't really seen any that are out of the ordinary.
Lyralei For Illu to Illu, my model can hold its own, but I agree vs Pony or SDXL they just have more training on realism. But they can't touch my model on pure tag prompting (I'm sure there are some, but likely not to the depth that Illu provides). As I said try DPM2 a, it has done the best for me across all kinds of content and if I want real real, I add realistic to the prompt and use dmd2.
Ultimately though, I am not happy with where its at even if it has the potential. There are a lot of areas it needs work and other models Illu or otherwise trounce it. But the one area I heavily focused on (prompt adherence and retaining danbooru knowledge, I feel I did a good job and will only make it better going forward).
Nice
This checkpoint even knows what "goth girl" is which is rare. Impressive
Amazing checkpoint, use it with Euler A and a nice refiner and it does magical stuff.
Great work!
tl;dr - Bid for this model if you want it on site for generation.
Unfortunately some bad news, with the auction changes a few weeks ago, cutting from 200 to 100 models that can be on site, the bidding has got expensive and I can no longer justify guaranteeing this will be available.
I will guarantee a bid of 15k, which is far and away what I actually get from the model each week, so we need others from the community to pitch in as well to push it up and keep it on site gen. I wish it wasn't the case but I have to make sure I have enough buzz for the other things I need it for.
How much is needed to stay on the site? Its 22nd now, am i seeing that correctly? And of its in the top 100, why dont i see it online now. I did a bid of 5k hope its helps
@Sensualart It needed 10k more to hit the minimum bid. The auctions end on Thursdays, so keep an eye on it then to see where it should go. If you can afford to contribute that would be great. I do wish I could afford to keep it on site indefinitely.
@ecaj i will keep n eye on it.. making sure it qill be back online next run
@Sensualart It is available on site now. If you were one of the few that contributed, thank you! I added a bit extra beyond my commitment because of everyone's support to ensure it made it this week.
@ecaj cool i am happy.. i misded it very much last week
Which upscaler do you recommend for HireFix?
In my experience remacri works well, it balance speed and quality and is generally what I have used for hiresfix related flows.
@ecaj You use remacri original?
@diego892009410 Umm whatever is on site here iirc, I downloaded it a while ago. Foolhardy Remacri.
I'm back! Still the best checkpoint to this day.
Prompt adherence and image quality are amazing. This checkpoint should be in top 3 of all time.
Have not seen any other checkpoint like this before, and i tested a lot if them.
It was best model on this site and now unavailable((
I will continue to pledge 15k to it every week, but with recent changes it isn't enough. If you contribute some or get others to chip in, it shouldn't take too much more to get it back on site.
@ecaj what do we need to do? I ise your model daily and would be happy to help
I added 5k to the bidding
@borT3 It is now available for on site generation thanks to the help from the community.
I was begining to use it more and more and learning how to use it.
"Let's make a cosplay, hyphoria real does it better even if it takes longer" fucking gone
by far THE BEST, illustrious model. Realism is great. But to get such good realism with the way this thing follows prompts is mind blowing
its pretty good
Gone again :(
Yeah, combination of barely missing through community contributions beyond mine and my missing the deadline to nudge it up. Worse yet my main model Hyphoria is also off gen this week too... so I'm pretty sad either way.
People if.you like this model please go to the auction and bid.. i will be good for at least 5k but i will need about 30k to be back online next friday
Not the most realistic of the realistic models, but definitely the most fun.
Big props! The best real and most flexible checkpoint. I keep throwing an obscene amount of different loras realistic/anime at is and it keeps putting out great stuff. Please keep improving this model... although idk how much more you could!
Loving your stuff with it! I plan to do more with it, namely make it more stable for all samplers, but also I want to improve its prompt adherence even more and retain more knowledge from the anime side. While not sacrificing realistic features. It's a fine line to balance but something I will be doing. I am setting up for Hyphoria next, but life and distractions are ever in the way.
Thanks for posting great stuff and the feedback. Keep it up!
Just wanted to pop in & say how much I'm enjoying your model! Thanks very much for creating and sharing it :)
Are the people (heros! whoever u r ^_^) who funded this awesome chkpnt for the past week's auction gonna do it again this week?
Well I have a standing 15k one in, someone has already put I think 5k or more into it. So here's hoping!
@ecaj Thanks! I can't afford the crazy amounts that go into winning the auction, but I put my money where my mouth is and bid at least something.
If we don't win, I'm gonna suffer severe withdrawal...
@ravemry9 They increased the spots to 150, looks like it should clear easily. Keeping an eye on it.
@ecaj Oh, that's great news. I hadn't realized the increase to 150 was enough to bring the bidding back to within a manageable range.
Thanks for doing the job of keeping your eye on it for all of us ;)
I just wanna say this is probably the most flexible realistic model I've recently tested. Really impressed, just trained a Lora on it that worked pretty good too
What lora? Thanks for the kind words, glad it is working for you.
My favorite checkpoint ! AMAZING job !
This model got me hooked on making real-life photos instead of my usual comicbook styles. If you're careful with your prompts it reliably gives flawless results
still coming back to this model, it's absolutely gorgeous
looking forward for the new version <3
Great model 🤌
Wonderful model! I love it!
It's a crime to not release the next version of Hyphoria Real 🥲 ? When will you update it ?
Life came fast and I haven't had the time to focus on image models sadly. It still nags on me, I need to update Hyphoria anime as well and I have WIP z-image one I was working on. Is there anything specific you'd want to see in a new version?
@ecaj I just wish that there would be better background/environment for characters in the new version. The current one seems to give blurry results (though I tried preventing with different loras and prompts) and there are sometimes jpeg artifacts as well. Also, it will be perfect if magic/fantasy and sci-fi elements are further implemented for the next version. The results for human skin are absolutely flawless imho. Please keep up with these great works👏.
@ecaj There shouldn't be depth of field for images all the time, right ?
@Decretta No not generally
