Grimes (b. 1988) is a Canadian musician. Born Claire Boucher in Vancouver, she dropped out of McGill University in 2011 to pursue a career in music after the release of her first two albums, Geidi Primes and Halfaxa. Her 2012 album Visions spawned two singles, "Oblivion" and "Genesis," which drew raves in the music press. (Pitchfork would later rate "Oblivion" the best song of the first half of the 2010s.) Later albums Art Angels and Miss Anthropocene have continued to grow her fan base. She's also had three children with a guy.
