Now you're playing with power!
How about a trip down nostalgia lane? Remember that special shade of gray, with that other special shade of gray, with just a bit of red on the side?
This LoRA puts a NES-style on whatever you prompt. Or at least, you'll probably get something with a matching color scheme.
Usage
Use the trigger word: "NESStyle" along with the LoRA to activate it.
Example prompt:
NESStyle cat, detailed plastic<lora:NESStyle:1>

This is awesome! ❤️
Thank you <3
Playstation next? XD
@mnemic do you think it would be possible to create one for the snes distinct enough to this one?
@Faeia you beat me to featuring it :D
@eurotaku I'm not sure. I think so. With more rounded corners and the colors of the face-buttons, it could be different enough?
I have a prompt for the PSX training data, but I worry that it will just be gray plastic in the end. Maybe it needs something else to spice it up.
@mnemic there were different versions of the playstation (PS1 was whiter smaller and more round) and SNES, japan's versions looked different too
@MobiusZen Yeah, this is true. The question is what will make an actually useful model though. One with all styles requires more data/training etc.
How useful would it actually be to people etc.
Simpler times
This is both a cool idea and well executed! Awesome. Really, really hope you make an XL version!
Cheers! Maybe I will once I figure out a way to train SDXL LoRAs. Should be doable with some colab notebook but I don't know which one :)
The dataset is available for this model, so feel free to take it on yourself too!
Are there any AI LORAs/checkpoints that know Superintendent Chalmers? I feel there is something that must be done...
@neonmodder Try one of the Simpson LoRAs:
https://civitai.com/models?query=simpson&view=feed
If you can't describe the character with a prompt, try making a character LoRA yourself :)
But I also assume you mean to make a Supernintendo Chalmers? I would like to see that...
"Now you're playing with power!"🤣🤣
that caught me way off guard XD
Really cool idea!!
lol, well now I want one for all the consoles, and a variant for the see through plastic N64s, but realtalk great idea, great execution, well done
@MobiusZen If you help me gather images, I'm happy to run the training =)
I've shared the prompt I used for this model, + the training data in my post here (https://civitai.com/articles/2138/lora-training-data-upload-to-civitai)
A photorealistic RAW photo of a [toaster] in the style of vintage video games, NES, Nintendo Entertainment System, with sharp geometry and edges, gray plastic. With red, white and dark gray details, [in a kitchen]. Controller. Game system.
If you wanna help out, let me know :)
Best Lora I've EVER seen!! you're a genius!
Just super fun and creative, really lovely work. I keep coming back to it everyday
Fun to hear! Would love to see what you make too! The most rewarding part of making models like this :)
how many repeats
4 repeats.
This model was a bit rough to make, it took a lot of versions.
In the end it's a merge of 4 epochs that I liked, and the result came out even better.
Nintendo (the company) must love you. Free product advertising.
I mean honestly, my feeling when I saw the results of the model was that I hope most of these get made into real products. Those headphones and jacket look retro dope!
I guess it's a bit of a shame they took a very anti AI stance. But I can respect that as well.
@mnemic Nothin personal at all. I'm just anti-corporation at this point. Corporations treating the last 4 years of recession like a damn fire-sale really just burned any bridges I had with em. Eventually they're gonna own everything. Bad thing about monopolies, is there's no price competition. That's why prices on things like Sony/Xbox games are at a standard price point, cuz the two companies just get together and decide that they'll both keep their prices high, then just toss in some random sales to make it look like actual competition is happening. Well, price competition aside, it also gives em zero incentive to make quality products. But, they own all the production, so we're stuck with it.
That said, Nintendo isn't as bad as the other 2 major brands, but then maybe I just want to say that cuz I grew up on Nintendo myself. First video game I remember seeing was super mario bros on the original NES. I found the concept absolutely hipnotizing at the time. Moving a character on screen with a controller, mind blowing, lol..
