Keren, along with Sara Dallin (her childhood friend), co-founded Bananarama in London in the early '80s. They were inspired by punk and post-punk DIY culture, which gave them a fearless, hands-on approach to music.

They linked up with Siobhan Fahey while attending the London College of Fashion, and soon they were making music with producers like Jolley & Swain and later Stock Aitken Waterman, with whom they had their biggest hits.
