🌪️ TORNADO – Fantasy Reimagined Through Fine Art
🔔 Update: Tornado V4.1 is here (Refined Brushwork) – Version Notes
Tornado V4.1 is a light-touch refinement of V4 — same vision, same settings, but with smoother execution. Think of it as polishing an already-finished painting: the strokes are cleaner, the tones more cohesive, the lighting just a little more grounded.
The anime traces from earlier versions remain dialed back, and V4.1 keeps the focus on painterly realism, elegant fantasy, and expressive composition. The changes aren’t dramatic — but they’re noticeable. Highlights are less plasticky, gradients blend more naturally, and skin/fabric detail is more balanced across compositions.
V4.1 doesn’t change Tornado’s direction — it just walks the path a bit more confidently.
🔔 Update: Tornado V4 is here
The quiet voice just spoke up.
Tornado V4 builds directly on the painterly foundation of V3, but with a refined touch:
Less anime bleed-through, more traditional media charm
Improved lighting depth, skin realism, and fabric rendering
More emotive posing and illustrative cohesion
Still fantasy, still ethereal — just more grounded and intentional.
V4 isn’t a reinvention — it’s a maturing. And it’s a quiet leap forward.
TORNADO was one of my earliest model experiments in the SDXL space — and while it started as a planned update to DreamcatcherFantasy, it quickly took on a life of its own.
My original goal? Build a model that could channel everything from Middle Earth to Alice in Wonderland, from surreal dreamscapes to neon-drenched Cyberpunk — and do it all without relying on LoRAs.
Let’s be honest: DreamcatcherFantasy bit off more than it could chew. It wanted to do everything — realism, fantasy, abstraction — and ended up doing none of them particularly well. TORNADO was my answer to that: a tighter, more focused vision with fewer compromises and a lot more personality.
But let’s be even more honest: this is now an older model. These days, I’m neck-deep in newer projects (like Typhoon and its growing ecosystem), and Tornado doesn’t see updates as often. It’s still in development, but at a slower, more deliberate pace — and that’s okay. Tornado isn’t trying to chase trends. It’s carving its own little niche in fantasy and fine-art generation.
Unlike Typhoon, which leans hard into stylization and visual punch, Tornado aims for something different:
A blend of surreal fantasy and fine-art realism, painted with elegance, subtle texture, and dramatic tones. It wants to feel like an oil painting — not a digital render. It’s imaginative, introspective, a little moody — and not afraid to be understated when it counts.
🧬 Model Evolution
V1 was the noob — a cleaned-up remnant of Dreamcatcher, full of big dreams and unrefined energy. The style was a jumbled mix of influences, none of it quite coalescing. It was an identity crisis writ large.
V2 was the angsty teen — bold, experimental, and reaching for everything. Sometimes it lost its identity, feeling a bit too generic. A jack of all trades, master of none.
V3 is the quiet voice — finding its footing and voice. Soft, painterly, infused with pastel hues. A harmonious and evocative style reflecting newfound maturity. Training included subtle soft anime touches, shaping fantasy aesthetics without overt anime feel.
V4 is that quiet voice… a little louder.
Retaining V3’s fine-art foundation but dialing back anime influence for a cleaner balance of softness and realism. Painterly qualities are more refined — deeper lighting, natural skin tones, believable fabric flow, and more grounded poses. The fantasy world feels more lived-in. Illustrations breathe more naturally. The voice has grown into quiet confidence — expressive, emotive, but never loud. Still painted, not rendered — just with better brushes.
TORNADO continues to evolve, slowly but intentionally. It may never be the loudest model — but it’s quietly becoming one of the most unique.

Description
🔸 Tornado V3 (The Quiet Voice) – Version Notes
Tornado V3 marks a meaningful shift in tone and technique. Where V2 was bold, loud, and brash — trying to be everything all at once — V3 takes a deep breath and grows up. It doesn't chase spectacle; it embraces nuance. This version is quieter, but more self-assured.
It leans into elegance, focus, and painterly restraint. No longer seeking to impress by volume, V3 instead invites you in with its calm confidence and a more mature artistic voice.
This is an emerging voice. A quiet voice — but a firm one.
V3 finds Tornado stepping into its own stylistic niche: fine-art fantasy with painterly softness. It is intentionally biased toward painterly hues, dreamlike settings, and concept art with an artistic edge. The goal isn’t to mimic reality — it’s to elevate it.
That said, realism is absolutely possible. With prompt refinement, cleaner descriptor structure, and lighting cues, you can steer Tornado into subdued, grounded looks — but it naturally prefers a softer, surreal, aesthetic-first composition by default.
🔁 Because of this firm creative identity, Tornado V3 now holds pole position for future updates. Its vision is clear, and future work will aim to refine and deepen this established aesthetic rather than reinvent the wheel.
🧠 Prompting Behavior
V3 introduces semi-tag-style prompting — it's more responsive to clean descriptors, though still forgiving of longer sentence prompts.
Prompt adherence has noticeably improved, yielding more reliable compositions from the same core input.
Use a mix of artistic keywords (e.g. oil painting, cinematic, studio light, rimlight, concept art) for best results. Less is more.
Use fewer words for better clarity. Suggested tags:
oil painting,cinematic,studio lighting,rimlight,concept art.
👁️ Rendering Improvements
Eyes are improved but may still need help — ADetailer is recommended for best clarity, especially, however it handles eyes well in extreme close-ups.
Lighting behavior has matured: more controlled, more natural, with subtle cinematic contrast and painterly diffusion.
Texture fidelity is also stronger, especially in fabric, hair, and soft surface rendering. Details are much more pronounced.
🔞 NSFW Handling
NSFW rendering is better than V1 and V2, particularly in softer, more artistic nude studies.
However: Tornado V3 is not tuned for pornography, and it will not handle hardcore explicit prompts well. It avoids that space on purpose.
Best used for tasteful figure studies, romantic composition, or sensual fantasy illustration. Best results are found in artistic, romantic, or emotionally toned settings.
🎨 Stylistic Anchors
Soft anime and fine art were intentionally blended into this version’s training data. That influence is subtle but effective — visible in the graceful linework, pastel color palettes, and overall mood.
While not a full anime model, Tornado V3 shows a clear synergy with soft anime aesthetics, especially in expressive portraiture, ambient lighting, and character framing. It leans more painterly than toon-like — but the influence is undeniably present.
It is also naturally biased toward painterly softness and pastel color harmony — think muted lilacs, airy peaches, dreamy teals. However, if you prefer bold saturation or punchy palettes, just prompt with terms like “bright,” “colorful,” or “vibrant” — V3 handles them effortlessly.
V3 is biased toward painterly elegance — but knows how to be subtle when asked.
