Commercial use of the model is authorized under Illustrious' standard license and cannot be modified. Anyone can download this model and do whatever they want with the outputs (not just this model, but literally any model using the Fair AI Public License 1.0-SD).

Yes. I'm so tired of uploaders trying to put restrictions on models which they don't have the authority to do. The original copyright is all that matters, they can't modify the original. They're the ones breaking the rules when they do that.
It's like the signs on back of trucks that say "Stay back 20 meters. Not responsible for damage to you or your vehicle." No, you are responsible for your vehicle's load and if rocks or debris come off of it and cause damage to someone and/or their vehicle then you ARE liable. You can't change the law just because you wrote some shit down on your vehicle.
Just like you can't change the copyright just because you wrote some shit on your model page.
@DaddyWolfgang I've already consulted legal counsel and am certain that anyone can sue someone. The question is: will they win the lawsuit?
No matter how much a person customizes a model, they can change 99% of it, but if 1% remains, the original license of the trained model applies, which explicitly states that no one can appropriate it, prohibit commercial use, or alter the original license.
@AishaAI Good to see that more people are taking a look into the license stuff. I wrote an article about it and had some argues with others. Not everybody is willing to dive into licensing. Having the ability to check boxes in the upload process is the problem which leads to misunderstandings, I guess.

So far I've tried about 50+ models and this guy makes the best ones.
So plenty of new versions since my last post and it's still one of the best models. Great prompt adherence. V13 is good but V12 still gives better detail I find. The Niiji_sketc model is also very good, it looks very refined
