Festa Junina (something like June Festival) is a lively Brazilian celebration where people dress up in a style known as "caipira" or "roça." Caipira is a term that refers to a rural or countryside lifestyle in Brazil, and the attire reflects this rustic theme. At the same time, those dresses reflect the influence of European dresses, particularly those from Portuguese, Spanish, and French traditions. (And they might reflect American country style, so it's a fascinating cultural mixture).

For women, the caipira-inspired dress typically features a checkered or plaid pattern in vibrant colors. The dress often has puffed sleeves, adding a touch of volume, and a fitted bodice that accentuates the waistline. The skirt is gathered and full, allowing for movement and dancing. Completing the look, women may wear a straw hat adorned with ribbons, colorful necklaces, and other accessories. Boots, fishnets, and braided hair are usually present.
