The Future: A Small Update

Hey everyone! You might have noticed that my posts have slowed down recently. My last style model was over a week ago, and I recently released the Flux model. But lately, I’ve been feeling a bit drained working on AI projects, compounded by some personal challenges adding extra stress. This site can also be a bit of a gamble—sometimes everything runs smoothly, and other times, it’s just glitchy. For example, on the day I posted the Flux model, none of the images were showing up, and the site wasn’t cooperating. So, I took a short break, played through Resident Evil 0, 1, and 2, and now I feel recharged and ready to jump back in. I also wanted to update you all on what I plan to work on in the coming months.
Commissions
I’m considering opening commissions soon, though I’m still figuring out the best approach—maybe Buzz, Ko-fi, SubscribeStar, or Fiverr. I may try using Buzz initially since it keeps things simple and is familiar to everyone here, without needing additional accounts or payment platforms. To me, this feels like the easiest way to handle commissions.
Now, I know some of you may be wondering, “What about my requests in the free request form? When will you get to those?” Burnout from these requests was part of why I took a break. Style training is what I enjoy most, but some of the requested styles are tricky to pull off, and multiple failed training attempts can be time-consuming. I implementing a new rule: if training fails after three tries, I’ll have to move on. There are so many requests, and it’s more than I can keep up with. But don’t worry—I’m still working on them! Commissions will be for those who need requests done right away, especially if they help cover my expenses.
Character Requests
Lately, I’ve felt like my character models haven’t turned out as well as they could. When creating character models, I aim for flexibility and consistency so they blend well with style models without overpowering each other. Depending on the dataset, characters can be relatively easy or tough to make. I have some old characters I’d like to remake and some I need to port from SD1.5. Unfortunately, my early SD1.5 datasets weren’t prepared as well as I would now, so in some cases, I have to start from scratch. Character models also seem less popular than style models. I’m unsure if it’s worth focusing on character models, especially since others might do a better job with them. For now, I’ll continue prioritizing style models.
Thoughts on Illustrious
At first, I was hesitant about Illustrious as a new competitor to PonyV6, but I see now that each has its strengths. Pony is more consistent, especially when it comes to body structure and avoiding strange, blobby results. With Pony, you generally know what you’re going to get, while Illustrious can be less predictable. However, Illustrious has some significant advantages: it’s much better with text and backgrounds, recognizes concepts well, and has fewer watermark issues. It also supports negative tags correctly, and styles and characters seem to train more effectively. I may start posting models for Illustrious once it’s available as a category on Civitai.
Game Project
I’ve been toying with the idea of making a game for a while, and after some reflection during my break, I’m excited to announce I have been experimenting with it! I do 3D modeling as my main job, and it’s something I’m genuinely passionate about. Although this project is still in its very early stages, I envision it as a 3D open-world or free-roam game built in Unreal Engine 5. It’s going to be a side project for now, and I don’t even have a name for it yet, but I wanted to share a bit of what I’ll be working on.
Lastly, I want to thank everyone who’s used my models. If it weren’t for your support, I might have stopped making these long ago. Looking forward to creating more soon!
