NEED Help and Advice on Posting a LORA

I have created a character LORA.

You can get an idea of what she looks like from the cover image. 

Honestly, I need a lot of help and advice on this. 

I had thought about adding the LORA here to Civitai and allowing others to use it. But there are so many things that I can choose when uploading a LORA. 

I see that I can charge yellow buzz for it. I can charge a single time limited fee. I can choose that the fee never goes away. I can charge usage fees. I can accept blue buzz instead of yellow. I can charge per usage. And there are so many other charges that Civitai allows. 

Honestly, I didn't understand most of it, minus it will somehow make me buzz. 

I am not in this to make buzz like its money. I see there is an option for that as well. 

If I sign up, if I do this, click that, I too can take that hard earned yellow buzz and get real dollars for it. That part does not really interest me. 

But the thing is, I don't really get what to choose. 

On the one hand I can make a case and say, I am not out to make a killing on things, just wanted a bit of buzz that I can use here and there. On the other hand, I can understand the appeal of earning tons of buzz. I could then be like Oprah. If you will all look under your keyboard covers, you get buzz, and you get buzz. Everyone here in this audience gets some buzz. To be that rich with yellow buzz, does sound appealing. 

But then there is a case that can be made for all the time and effort that went into it, all the time that was put into creating it. I created 50 separate images that were used to create the LORA on my computer. Each one took me an average of 5-7 minutes. Of those final selected images, I had discarded nearly 150 more. All of which I also had rendered. Then there was all the time spent on writing each prompt. Learning what types, sizes, were needed. Do I make this a LORA that only works for a certain aspect ratio? Obviously, you get the idea, just to generate all the images needed and then write all the captioning for all 50 images. In my case, I think I ended up writing it nearly 4 times for each image...😒I am very new to this, and I kept messing up. I had no idea what an epoch was. I had no idea how many steps were needed. I had started and stopped it so many times trying to learn. Then I would have start from scratch and do it again. I finally got smart and wrote each caption down elsewhere and then could copy and paste each one. The time it took to run this lora locally on my MacBook Pro, nearly 10 hours. I used 50 images, 20 epochs, and 1000 steps. I thought my computer was going to die. LOL. Fortunately, it did not, as I am still typing this. 

So, to say it took a while, yeah. A long while. 

But I get it. I am not alone in this. I imagine that others have done the same. Run it themselves. 

I get the impression though that the majority said forget that nonsense, I am running it here on Civitai, or another site.

I will use their computers to run it. 🤷🏻‍♂️Awesome.

But I did not have the buzz to do that, hence it had to be local or nothing.

But at this point I think you get the idea of what it took.

Here is a bit more information. I have used so many other Creators LORAS, all of which were free. Awesome. I love that idea. I received free, give free. But then I look at what Civitai is suggesting. Be a creator! It will be fun they said. I see people creating and charging for all kinds of things here on the site. No one seems to mind that. 

So, then I think to myself, maybe I should then do that instead. Would I like some more yellow buzz? Yes. What would I use it for? Honestly no idea. Maybe buy a background or something. I just don't know. Civitai said, I could be paid in blue buzz. But here is the thing. I don't use blue buzz. I tried to generate some images here on the site, and I can never seem to get things the way I liked. So, I always ended up dumping the results because I did not like them. So aside from that, I would have no idea what to even use the blue buzz on. It’s not like Civitai says, hey, got a ton of blue buzz you don't use? Then give some as a gift to so and so, or them and them. I am already sitting on a ton of Blue buzz that I don't use.

What I want is for those who have uploaded models, and LORAs, and other things that they could and maybe do charge for, to give me some advice. If I go down this road, here is what I need to know. For good, for bad, lay it on me. Because honestly, I just do not know what to do and I realize I need this community's help to understand it all. 

My first impression was, just upload it, let people just have it. But then I read that if I did that, creators are earning blue buzz that way too somehow by the images we upload and then reference. 🤷🏻‍♂️ But I don't even know if that is true either.

I find myself in need of a great deal of advice. Also, If I did upload it, how am I supposed to know what tags to associate it with. Does that even matter? I am a small burnt fry in the bottom of a fry box filled with wonderfully greasy and salty fries on top of me. So, I have no idea and need those other fries’ advice. 

Lay it on me please. Yes, no, maybe, lessons learned, I need it all.
