Community question time #1: Where do you follow GenAI news and updates?

    Hey everyone!
I’m trying to stay on top of:

    • New base models (like Wan i2v, Z-Image)

    • Fresh fine-tunes that are actually taking off on Civitai

    • Real, honest feedback on how good they are in practice

    • Interesting workflows people are currently using

Sites like stable-diffusion-art.com are good for tutorials, yet they rarely include real user feedback or comparisons. Right now, I mostly read Civitai articles, but even with the "news" filter, it’s hard to find the technical articles among dozens of personal news.

So my question: where do you personally go for this kind of information?
Reddit, specific Discord servers, certain X/Twitter accounts, newsletters… anything?

Would really appreciate your recommendations in the comments, and I hope they will help other people who found this article. Thanks!

TL;DR of the entire comment section (as of Nov 29 2025):

    Where people get GenAI/image-generation news:

    • Top mentions: r/StableDiffusion, r/comfyui, r/aicuriosity, r/civitai

    • Civitai itself (models + comments) for bleeding-edge stuff

    • Discords (official vendor ones + hidden community ones)

    • YouTube (e.g., Matt Berman), newsletters (tldr.tech/ai), Perplexity/Grok daily queries

    • A few still mention old-school 4chan roots

    Main pain points:

    • Reddit & Civitai are huge time sinks — no good summaries, have to read hundreds of comments to figure out if a new model is actually good or just hyped/paid promo

    • Very one-sided or biased opinions lately

Overall mood: Most active users have basically given up trying to “stay on top” of every release because it’s too time-consuming and the signal-to-noise ratio is terrible. People just stumble into big news days or weeks late.
