Uploading images is now hard work. Enjoy the shitshow.
Uploading images has always been an bad experience. It is way too clunky and riddled with issues, without any apparent reflections how to improve it. The update regarding rating made it several times worse. There seems to be more false positives or somehow stuck images without rating right now, even for obvious SFW content.
From what I experience and hear from other users is that it can take up to 24 hours for images to receive an rating! Some of my uploads from yesterday did complete some still unrated for like 18 hours.
It's obvious that those images receive an manual rating.
If you are confused here is are a few notes about posts:
after image upload the post will become a draft, found in posts->drafts. you don't have to publish or schedule it, you can do that later when everything is right.
at the bottom there is the area with tags, this may take a few minutes. red tags will give you a clue whether the image will probably be rated R+.
the blue tag is the rating, currently there is a second phase after tagging which will show as "analyzing" below the tags. after completion the blue tag should have a rating. this is the part that can take 24 hours.
so far I know the old school "flagged for review" can still happen, so the image may end up for a second manual review.
in your personal image feed unrated images will have no rating at the top left. unscheduled images will have an yellow waning symbol "not published".
as soon the images have a rating and are not flagged for review, they are ready to be scheduled.
side note: the prompt is now considered for rating. so if your image is SFW and the prompt is in some way NSFW remove it before upload!
If you care about reactions watch out for all this. If you do multiple images per posts you have to wait for all of them receiving a rating. Ideally if you want to post daily you currently should queue up 2-3 days of content to be safe.
It's depressing because I thought I could just dodge civits bullshit if I merely use this platform as gallery. But it seems they are very dedicated to ruin my personal experience.
I will now shut up and reconsider my life choices.
