Prediction: How AI Might Work In A Near Future

Have you tried ChatGPT, Copilot or any other chat AI and can't figure out what it could possibly be used for?

You might have presented the AI with some kind of problem or task you wanted it to solve, and it might have taken it longer to solve than if you had done it yourself.

Maybe you felt as if it was just throwing random answers at you, hoping one of them would be correct. Possibly, you caught it lying to you, or at least telling untruths.

How useful can these types of AI be, you might wonder. You can't trust that their answers are 100% correct, you have to ask for the same thing a ton of times just to get a halfway decent solution to a problem. And since it's a chat bot, it can't actually "do anything".

The short answer is that you only have access to a small part of the AI, or the potential AI anyway. What you should expect is that your "useless AI" is going to function like a bridge between you and AI's that are way smarter and more specialized. Because you will not have the capacity to interact with those smaller and smarter models. The AI you feel is useless today, is going to be your guide and interpreter into the future. Maybe not tomorrow, but very soon.
