My (and Others) Daily Challenge Ideas

    Intro

I know that the CivitAI team has made it known that they are working on coming up with improvements to how the daily challenges work; I think everyone is appreciative. They have stated they know there is room for improvements. The challenges are a lot of fun either way, and the community has been a delight. Here are some brainstorming ideas I have come up with, as well as some that I saw others suggest.

    Observations

    • Users who are interested in the challenges are less likely to react to images in the contest as it will reduce the chances of their own submission being chosen as a winner. Therefore a majority of reactions during the challenges are probably from friends, followers and (hopefully not) alt accounts.

    • Participants in time zones that can submit entries earlier in the cycle have a better chance of their entries gaining traction than users who must submit their work hours before the winners are chosen.

    • Participants often complain of how random the selections to JUDGED seem to be, with some days one getting zero selected and other days one will get 6 to 12 into the race.

    • Participants rarely see their own favorite "horse" get into the race.

    Brainstorming

    1. Each participant can force one image into JUDGED. The random selections per cycle would still happen but maybe with the rate of CivBot selections being reduced to offset the one per user. (forgot who suggested this but I elaborated on it a bit, will add a name when I figure it out)

    2. Keep each Challenge open for two days before Winners are announced. Submissions stop after day one, then voting/reacting happen for another day. There would still be one active Challenge per day, the close out would just be offset by one day. (Many have suggested this I believe)

    3. This one is mine. Have two groups of participants, whereas the participants are encouraged to spend time reacting to the other group's images. People would then not be voting against their own interests while earning buzz for reacting to good images. I don't know how it could be implemented or if possible. Either it assigns you randomly to group A or B when you submit your first image batch, or possibly Civit Generator in one group and Local Gens in the other.

    4. Challenge images stored in a different section of our profiles that can be toggled visible or not. (many have suggested)

    5. Some kind of chat room/group for each challenge.

    6. Participation credit is saved, even if the user deletes their images.

    7. Challenge Themes (Christmas, Snakes) limited to one week.

    8. FLUX challenges spread out and/or participation rewards increased for FLUX challenges.

    9. If an image is picked for JUDGED, and then the CivBot detects that it doesn't have any of the subject of the Lora in it enough to comment that it doesn't have the subject, remove it from JUDGED and choose another image.

    Outro

Please add your own ideas below. CivitAI is presented as community driven. So I wanted to create a central location to put the suggestions, ideas and complaints that I see daily in the challenge threads.
