2024 thoughts
It’s hard to believe that a whole year has passed since I started creating LoRAs. When I first ventured into this, I never imagined it would turn out to be such an interesting and rewarding journey. Initially, my motivation was pretty straightforward, I was tired of waiting for some of the more obscure characters to be made into LoRAs, like that one meme: “Fine, I’ll do it myself.” What started as a practical decision quickly turned into a genuine passion.
I found the entire process unexpectedly enjoyable. From collecting datasets to training the AI, every step felt like a creative challenge. There’s something magical about seeing a character come to life through an image generator. The work isn’t just technical; it feels personal, like giving a piece of yourself to the art you’re creating.
I know some people have a personal grudge against AI, and I understand where they’re coming from. But as someone who can’t draw, it’s genuinely fun to be able to translate my words and ideas into a visual medium. It feels empowering to finally have a way to create the images I’ve always envisioned but couldn’t put to paper. AI has given me the tools to express myself in ways I never thought possible, and for that, I’m grateful.
What’s even more important to me is that all of this isn’t about financial gain. That’s why I’ve never set up a Ko-fi, Patreon, or taken commissions. This isn’t a business venture or a side hustle, it’s something I genuinely enjoy doing. Creating LoRAs and bringing characters to life is its own reward for me, and I want to keep it that way.
Reflecting on the evolution of image generation over the past year has been equally inspiring. The tools and techniques have advanced so much in such a short time, and it’s exciting to think about what might be possible in the near future. I’ve seen how my skills have grown, but I also recognize that there’s still so much room for improvement.
The idea of continuing to refine my craft, pushing the boundaries of what I can create, and bringing even more characters to life is incredibly motivating. This year has shown me not only how far I’ve come but also how far I can still go. It’s been a fulfilling journey, and I’m excited to see where it leads next.
